This 93-gram Colombian blue mist quartz specimen measures 4.9" x 1" x 0.9" and presents an elongated taper formation with multiple small child crystals attached along one side of the main crystal. The family cluster configuration demonstrates the communal growth patterns that can occur in high-altitude quartz formations.

The specimen displays characteristic blue mist inclusions concentrated in the lower section, with the elongated taper maintaining clarity throughout its length. The attached child crystals vary in size and development, creating a natural family grouping that formed simultaneously during the original crystallization process.

Harvested in 2016 near Cerro Peñas Blancas in the Colombian Andes at 8,500 feet elevation, this specimen showcases the complex crystal relationships possible in mountain quartz deposits. The length-to-width ratio creates an elegant taper while the family formation adds geological interest to the overall specimen.
